One of the biggest frustrations in flight training is trying to find available aircraft and maintain a consistent schedule. We work with you to build a training schedule around your life, with dedicated weekly flight blocks and flexibility that keep you flying consistently.

Our flight instructor has focused her career on training pilots rather than to pursue the airlines. This means you’ll train with someone fully committed to your success and the craft of teaching, not just passing through on the way to the next opportunity.

Our Cessna 172 has been upgraded with a powerful 180-horsepower engine, giving it the performance needed to train safely and effectively in the high-density altitude environment of the Southwest.

We provide access to a RedBird FAA-certified flight simulator allowing you to log valuable flight hours while significantly reducing the cost of training.

We believe flight training should be focused on your success. From flexible scheduling, reliable aircraft availability, modern training technology and a committed flight instructor, we are fully dedicated to helping you achieve your aviation goals.

    Discovery Flights are just $175

    This introductory experience includes a one-hour flight where you'll have the opportunity to take the controls under the guidance of an experienced flight instructor. It's an exciting, hands-on way to see if flying is right for you, and the flight time counts toward the hours required for pilot certification.

    After landing, you'll have the chance to sit down with your instructor, review your experience, and get answers to any questions about training, licensing requirements, and the path to becoming a pilot.

    How to Become a Professional Pilot

    Flight training requires dedication, consistency, and disciplined study. Your commitment will play a significant role in your progress and success.

    The hours it takes to obtain a pilot’s certificate is subject to each individual.

    PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE:

    The Federal Aviation Administration requires a minimum of 40 hours of flight time to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate. However, the the national average to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate is around 60-80 hours.

    Dual Requirements: 20 hours minimum of flight training with an instructor

    Solo Requirements: 10 hours in a single engine airplane

    INSTRUMENT RATING:

    Solo Requirements: 50 hours of cross-country flight time as pilot in command.

    Dual Requirements: 15 hours of instrument flight training with an instructor

    COMMERCIAL PILOT CERTIFICATE:

    250 hours total

    Dual Requirements: 20 hour minimum of training with an instructor

    CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR:

    No Minimums

    CFI : Flight Instructor Certificate

    CFII : Flight Instructor Certificate with an Instrument Instructor Rating

    MEI : Flight Instructor Certificate with a Multi-Engine Instructor Rating

    AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT CERTIFICATE:

    Total: 1500 hours

  • Four Corners Regional Airport (KFMN) is located in Farmington, New Mexico, surrounded by our scenic high desert landscape.

    As a Class D Towered airport, it provides an excellent environment for developing and refining radio communication skills with Air Traffic Control.

    The airport is also equipped with multiple instrument approach procedures, making it a prime location for earning an instrument rating or maintaining instrument currency.

  • Emily's mission is to provide safe, comprehensive flight training that supports both aspiring aviators and the aviation needs of the local community. She brings valuable experience from both Part 141 and Part 61 flight training environments and holds an Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Certificate, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate, Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII) certificate, Advanced Ground Instructor, and Instrument Ground Instructor ratings.

    Emily knew she wanted to become a flight instructor after her first solo flight. The pride and enthusiasm her instructors shared at every milestone inspired her to pass that same excitement on to others. Teaching quickly became a natural extension of her love for aviation, and she is thrilled to help new pilots discover the same sense of accomplishment and passion for flight.

    Emily founded Four Corners Flight as a long-term investment in the future of aviation in the Southwest. Flight instruction is more than her profession, it is her lifelong commitment to the region she proudly calls home.

    Emily is a thoughtful, patient and knowledgeable flight instructor. If you are looking for a CFI whose end goal is not to move on to the airlines then Emily is the CFI for you. She fits her schedule to yours, not the other way around. As a person with a full time job this flexibility was invaluable.
